VP of Engineering

Rapid7 is seeking a visionary leader to head our Detection and Response Engineering team, driving innovation in our industry-leading solutions based out our Prague office. As VP of Detection and Response Engineering, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering high-performing engineering teams that drive operational excellence, resiliency, and quality.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead an engineering team responsible for Rapid7’s Detection and Response solutions, supporting thousands of customers in their journey to have full visibility across the attack surface. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Platform and Engineering, you will not only shape the product portfolio from an architectural standpoint to ensure that we are delivering our best for our customers, but will also foster an organizational culture of excellence, collaboration, and leadership growth. 

In this role, you will:

• Develop and execute a technical strategy for our Detection and Response portfolio

• Foster an organizational culture of excellence, collaboration, and leadership growth

• Drive accountability for operational excellence in engineering, focusing on resilience, performance, and quality initiatives

• Partner closely with Product Management, UX, and other stakeholders to establish product roadmaps and commitments

• Develop and maintain technical standards and execution plans to achieve roadmap goals

• Grow and develop both technical and leadership skills locally in Prague and across the organization globally to create a thriving culture for both individual contributors and team success.

• Invest in recruiting and developing the current and future stars of the engineering organization as the company and team continues to scale in our global locations.

• Engage directly with customers to incorporate their feedback and remove points of friction from their product experience in partnership our support teams.

The skills you’ll bring include:

• 10+ years of global development and agile engineering leadership experience at scale

• Technical expertise in Detection and Response technologies, cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, and containerization

• In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and industry best practices

• Experience growing and developing a diverse, distributed team of leaders and engineers

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
