Position Summary:
Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) provides a broad offering of instruments, consumables, software, and services that are used for a range of applications in the laboratory, on the production line and in the field.

The Accountant II will report directly to an AIG Group Controllership Supervisor, Accounting and will have execution responsibility for controls and compliance within the business. This role will work closely with the Division and broader Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) Finance teams, Global Business Shared Services (GBS), and Corporate Finance teams to drive and enhance controls and optimize processes.
What you will do:
Function as part of an impactful team of accounting professionals, working optimally to achieve Team, Division and Group goals
Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of monthly close activities
Process relevant transactions in a timely and accurate manner, resolving any issues as needed
Manage relevant General Ledger accounts, including monthly analysis and adjustments as required
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accounts
Perform variance analysis including current-to-prior month/quarter/year fluctuations
Management reporting to Division, Group or Corporate as required
Collects, compiles, and verifies financial information to provide management with accurate and timely information for making decisions
Work effectively with Global Business Services and other Finance teams to ensure execution of end-to-end processes
Partner optimally with Business Finance and all Operational functions to understand and deliver Controllership related requirements
Support requests from external and internal auditors as well as various groups companywide
Support cross functional initiatives to drive PPI and improve compliance
Support special projects as required across AIG Group Controllership
Education
- Required: An undergraduate degree in Accounting, CA/CPA or equivalent designation preferred
Experience
- 3-4 years of dynamic accounting/finance experience in large complex, multinational organization with experience in Accounting, Controls or Audit
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience of month end reporting, statutory accounts, management accounting & balance sheet reconciliations
Experience within an audit role would be advantageous
Highly motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent communication, computer and organisational skills
Ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment
Proficient user of Excel; experience with SAP (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is desired
Proficient verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with all levels of personnel
English at least B2
Travel requirements
- Less than 10% domestic/international travel required
