At Paylocity, Software Engineering Managers are technology focused leaders that act as the bridge between an engineering team's outcomes and the business strategies driving those outcomes.? It is a critical role in our Product and Technology organization. This key role serves as manager of a team of roughly engineers and is responsible for driving workstream focused outcomes in our financial domain, while working to achieve a high level of performance and efficiency.? What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar with 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • A demonstrable level of successful strategy implementation along with proven outcomes.
  • Collaborative project planning capabilities that factor in risk/reward tradeoffs, assumptions and confidence levels.
  • Proven ability and experience of managing front-end engineering teams.
  • An exceptional ability to communicate with a collaborative demeanor.
  • A history of both direct and indirect influence using a data-driven approach.
  • A basic understanding of enterprise financial planning and management tools.
  • Hands-on experience working in cloud technologies (preferably AWS).
  • Working understanding of various architectural patterns like SOA and Microservices and the related advantages and trade-offs.
  • Working understanding of web technologies such as Javascript, ReactJs, Angular.
  • Experience leveraging observability and monitoring tools such as DataDog.
  • Exposure to work management tools such as Atlassian's Jira. ?
  • Versed in the design and development of API based platforms.
  • Must show passion for the role and take responsibility for the team's deliverables.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment in an agile fashion.?
