Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our agile Life Science - Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry R&D department. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the entire process, from conception to production documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex electronics, including high frequency and high voltage circuits.
  • Work alongside highly motivated, multinational and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in product development and project planning, ensuring expertise is used in decision-making processes.
  • Prepare production documentation and test procedures for seamless and transparent transfer to series production.
  • Engage in on-the-bench and in-system design verification to ensure quality and functionality of products.
  • Contribute to effective decision-making by calculating product and process costs.
  • Provide technical support to suppliers, assisting in their qualification process.
  • Be involved in Engineering Change Orders and Quality Control during product commercialization phase.
Requirements
  • University degree in electrical engineering or related fields.
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing analog electronics, with emphasis on high voltage and/or high frequency electronics.
  • Solid understanding of Product Development Practices, Processes and Tools, preferably in the context of sophisticated analytical instruments.
  • Experience working with low volume, high-value large complex systems such as scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or semiconductor process systems.
  • Proficiency in debugging electronic circuits and conducting root cause analysis on both PCBA and system level.
  • Ability to work in a cost-conscious, effective, and autonomous manner, driving efficiency and achieving goals.
  • Effective open collaboration and communication with diverse teams and leadership.
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English language.
  • Knowledge of German language is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Office programs.
  • Proven experience with Software for Electronic design and PCB layout such as Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Spice simulators etc.
