Experience Required
  • Minimum 6 years experience of general or relevant specialized focus in a system operations role
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with at least one of the following languages in an internal/backend context:
    • Golang
    • Python
    • Bash
  • Experience with multiple *NIX/Linux systems (RHEL-based prioritized, Debian-based a plus)
  • Experience with KVM/QEMU
  • Experience with Nginx

Desired (In addition to above Required experience):

  • Experience with Ceph/Red Hat Ceph Storage
  • Experience with ELK stack/Wazuh
  • Working experience with SELinux
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with at least one additional language of the following in an internal/backend context:
    • Golang
    • Python
    • Rust
    • Bash
    • Powershell
    • Lua
  • Experience with Libvirt and/or oVirt
  • Experience with LDAP
  • Experience with iPXE/PXE
  • Experience with Saltstack

Location Policy
  • Contracting Entity: Candidates will be contracted via our US-based entity, however candidates may reside in any country.
  • Work Location: Fully remote position, allowing candidates to work from any location with consistent internet access.
  • US Collaboration: Our primary hours are 9 AM - 5 PM EST. While candidates can be flexible with their work hours, some overlap with US working hours is essential for effective collaboration.
  • Communication: Active communication and participation in virtual meetings with teams from the US and respective EU countries are expected.

As a Senior Backend Engineer at NetFire, you’ll shape and streamline the foundation of our infrastructure by designing, building, and automating scalable systems. This role is crafted for an engineer who thrives in backend environments, with a specialization in Linux as the core platform. You’ll leverage your expertise in Golang and Python to create powerful automations and support the critical services that power our operations. If you’re excited about tackling complex backend challenges and driving efficiencies across systems, we’d love to have you on our team.

On-call 24/7 may be necessary as a part of this role.

    • Second Round (if applicable):
      • Design-oriented roles: A deeper dive into the applicant's portfolio and a discussion about their design philosophies and past projects.
      • Coding-related roles: This could involve a technical interview, potentially including pair-programming sessions where candidates collaborate with a member of our team to solve coding challenges.
    • Third Round (if applicable): This is typically a final discussion, possibly with senior leadership or department heads. The emphasis here is on alignment with company values, long-term aspirations, and role-specific expectations.
  4. Offer & Onboarding: Successful candidates will receive a formal job offer. Upon acceptance, they will undergo a structured onboarding process to integrate seamlessly into our team.
