What are we looking for?

You'll lead one of the biggest music stats apps in the world, with 17 million people using it to track their music habits. Utility is our bread and butter, and we've nailed it.

But music has always been inherently social. It's how friends bond, how memories are made, and how feelings get shared without saying a word. That's what we're building for. We're turning passive listening into something social—something you talk about, laugh about, and send to your group chat. Less "look at my data," more "this song is us."

Essential to manage your expectations

This isn't your typical PM role. We're looking for a builder who thrives in the messy 1→10 or 10→100 stages and knows what it takes to bring ideas to life from scratch. You've likely worn many hats before: founder, early employee, product lead. You've built things with limited resources, made tough calls, and owned outcomes end to end.

You're not here to optimise a metric in a corner of a giant app. You've spent most of your time in start-ups because you want chaos, freedom and accountability. You think like an owner because you've been one, or want to be one.

We're a small, fast, mission-driven team where everyone acts like a founder. This is not a 9–5 job. It's a place for people with raw intellect, grit and the hunger to build something that matters. If that excites you, we should talk.

What you'll be doing:

  • Craft a strategy for how our music stats app can create differentiated and defensible offerings that get us closer to our long-term product vision and win buy-in for this at every level in the company.
  • Get to know our users and uncover their needs and pain points. Look beyond the numbers to deeply understand how our users interact with and get value from our product.
  • Shape outcome-focused product goals and an ambitious experiment-driven roadmap to validate, prototype, and push forward new ideas and concepts.
  • Drive execution, working iteratively and collaboratively with design, engineering, analytics, monetisation, user growth, and many others to rapidly build, learn, and iterate.
  • Communicate effectively with people of all levels of seniority. You'll get people inspired by the product vision, and you'll share the right context with the right people at the right time.
  • Lead planning processes and associated roadmap prioritisation using an appropriate blend of effort, upside, and risk, ensuring that your team works on the highest impact priorities contributing to broader business goals.
  • Improve the efficiency of the product development process, particularly in the ideation, prototyping, and early-validation stages.
  • Keep a pulse on the competitive landscape and market trends.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • You've shipped successful mobile consumer products in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally at pre-seed, seed, Series A or VC-backed startups where speed, ambiguity, and ownership are the norm.
  • You think like a founder because you've been one, or wanted to be one. Startups are your natural habitat. You prefer building from scratch over managing roadmaps inside slow-moving orgs.
  • You're passionate about building great products for users, but you also deeply understand what makes your product succeed commercially.
  • You start from first principles. You've previously built products that tackled long-standing user problems in a new way or otherwise broke from the industry status quo. You're not satisfied with simply building the same product your competitors offer.
  • You're full of novel ideas and creative solutions and can tease them out of others, too.
  • You're data-driven, relentless about metrics, and intellectually honest about how your work is performing and driven to continuously improve it.
  • You're flexible and fluid in your approach to work. With enough research, you can develop a point of view on market outlooks and cultural trends. With enough debate, you are capable of changing that point of view.
  • You bring product sense and design sense in spades, and rolling up your sleeves is your default approach.
  • You can work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and working styles to get stuff done, and can thoughtfully and constructively challenge and influence the people you work with

Bonus points:

  • It's great if you've worked on music, social, or entertainment products, but it's not essential.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis.
  • Experience with data products, machine learning-driven products, and recommendation algorithms.

The Interview Process

  1. Talent call (30 mins): Discuss your motivation, experience and alignment.
  2. Hiring Manager call (45 mins): Deep dive into product sense, design and analytical thinking.
  3. Case study (1 hour): Take-home assignment and presentation.
  4. Final call (45 mins): Understand your leadership, builder, judgment, and long-term fit for the team.

On average, our process takes about 2-4 weeks. Speed is as important to us as it is to you.
