Senior Ontologist

We seek an experienced expert in ontology development and semantic data modeling to join our global Data Semantics team.

About the Role
  • Design and integrate upper-level ontologies based on W3C open standards (RDF, OWL).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to align data models across diverse business domains.

This role will play a key part in shaping the future of our Data & AI Strategy by building and orchestrating ontologies to support a unified Data Language across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain upper-level ontologies using W3C open standards.
  • Integrate ontology solutions into business processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to collect requirements and define common semantic models.
  • Manage the full ontology lifecycle—from concept to deployment.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in ontology development and semantic data modeling.
  • Expertise in Semantic Web technologies (RDF, OWL) and ontology modeling tools.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with stakeholders across different levels and functions.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts is beneficial.
  • Additional experience in Finance, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain is advantageous.
