We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Scala Developer to join our team at Comscore in Poland and beyond. As a key member of our global analytics team, you will play a vital role in revolutionizing insights into consumer behavior, media consumption, and digital engagement.

As a Junior Scala Developer, you will be working on real big data projects (petabytes scale) with an international team based in the US, Poland, Ireland, and Chile. You will have high influence on your working environment and enjoy a flexible work schedule with fully remote or in-office options in Wroclaw, Poland.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 1+ years of Scala experience
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Good understanding of Linux processes, thread management, shell scripting, service management, and networking
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and service-based architecture
  • Strong knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of Iceberg is a plus
  • Ability to work in the EST timezone (partially)
  • Ability to cover some EST on-call (usually one incident a month per team)
  • Proficiency in English

Job Description

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing scalable solutions using Scala and ZIO
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality code
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project goals
  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior team members

You will also have opportunities to contribute to the development of new features and technologies, such as Spark, EMR, ElasticAPM, Prometheus, Kubernetes, Athena, and Airflow.
