**Software Quality Assurance Engineer**

Job Summary:

This is a high-profile role that demands technical expertise in software testing and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in testing REST APIs, web services, and software test methodologies.

The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for driving quality assurance of Toshiba's Point of Sale solutions in the retail marketplace.

This role requires a strong background in REST API testing and the ability to translate customer requirements and technical designs into both manual and automated test scenarios.

The ideal candidate should have experience in creating automated and manual test cases from business requirements and software design documents.

Additionally, the candidate should be able to execute test cases, report defects, and track defect resolutions.

This role involves performing automation/API testing using internal and external tools, maintenance regression software tests, and exploratory testing.

The successful candidate will set up and maintain local automation test environments and solution hardware and software installations.

Strong documentation skills are required to create documentation for various initiatives including test plans, custom installation procedures, and process improvements.

This role also involves communicating closely with project team leads and managers on test status, risks, and mitigation plans.

The ideal candidate should provide input on risks and quality decisions and participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirements team meetings.

Generating requirements traceability matrices for test coverage is an essential skill for this position.

Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members is also a key responsibility.

Preferred skills include retail industry experience and performance testing experience.
