Job Description

This role entails supporting various customers with technical activities related to z/OS system installations and upgrades, performance tuning, problem resolution, and technical support.

You will be part of a global team working on diverse tasks, both run-time and one-time deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• IT Service Management: Manage incidents, problems, and changes effectively.
• Product Implementation: Install, implement, and configure products within our environment.
• Product Life Cycle Management: Oversee the life cycle of products, from deployment to decommissioning.
• System Maintenance: Maintain and monitor systems for performance enhancements.
• Vendor Support: Liaise with vendors regarding support cases.
• Tech Consulting: Provide technical consultation and support to other teams.
• Documentation: Draft clear instructions as required.
• Project Participation: Participate in internal and external projects.
• Meetings and Collaboration: Attend daily huddles, meetings, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Adherence to Process: Adhere to structured workflows and objectives established by a remote team leader.
• Team Contribution: Contribute to team efforts by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Primary Skills:

• z/OS Knowledge: General and broad z/OS expertise.
• Programming: Proficiency in JCL and Rexx programming languages.
• Automation: Experience with Netview SA automation.
• TSO/ISPF: Familiarity with TSO/ISPF general knowledge.

Technical Team Specific Skills:

• SAN and DASD: SAN, IBM DASD, and Virtual Tape Systems expertise.
• DASD and VTS System Management: Management skills for IBM DASD and VTS systems.
• DFSMS Management: DFSMS management expertise.
• PL/1 Programming: Programming skills in PL/1 language.
• Tracing Tools: Proficiency in Debugger and Fault analyzer tracing tools.

General Skills:

• Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on efficient problem resolution.
• Automation Mindset: Automation and standardization mindset.
• Technical Specifications: Ability to read, understand, and adhere to established technical specifications and manuals.

Education:

• Computer Science Degree: University degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
