Job Description

NIX Tech Kft. is a global supplier of software engineering and IT outsourcing services, seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join its team in Budapest.

About the Role

This role will involve ensuring the efficient operation of databases, managing security, and collaborating with developers to optimize database performance.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related applications.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Manage database security, including user authentication, authorization, and access controls.
  • Perform database backups, recovery, and data migration tasks.
  • Collaborate with software developers to design and optimize database queries and performance.
  • Provide database migrations and troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues on time.
  • Maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in database administration.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle, both on-premise and in-cloud.
  • Experience: Proven work experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a production environment.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English (level B2 minimum).
Additional Requirements

AWS certifications, experience with AWS cloud tools, and relevant projects are highly valued but not required.
