We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Software Developer to lead the design and implementation of our Python-based backend systems. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on system architecture, reliability, and scalability.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned developer who enjoys designing and building robust backend services in Python. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing event-driven integrations using Kafka and/or AWS Kinesis, ensuring the system's reliability and scalability for future instrument onboarding.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing backend services in Python to support scientific data pipelines
  • Architecting and implementing scalable and fault-tolerant systems
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain high-quality software solutions
  • Mentoring junior developers to raise engineering standards and promote knowledge sharing

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape solutions end-to-end, from data flows to integration with distributed components. You will work closely with the team to foster a dynamic culture rooted in strong engineering practices, ownership, and transparency.
