Senior Data Engineering Lead Position for Large-Scale Applications

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead Data Engineer to join our team in London and further develop our internal Data Platform. Our client is a global investment advisor organization that utilizes advanced technologies and data analytics to improve the operational performance of their portfolio companies.

Key objectives include delivering strong financial returns, offering diverse investment opportunities, enhancing portfolio company operations, and proactively managing risks. They have invested in proprietary technology and data-driven strategies to extract additional value.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing robust and scalable data pipelines for large-scale applications, ensuring seamless code integration and deployment processes, and articulating complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in production environments, emphasizing performance optimization and code quality in Python development
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, with expertise in at least one of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL
  • Experience with cloud providers, specifically AWS or GCP, with Azure being highly preferred due to project-specific requirements
  • In-depth understanding of Terraform or equivalent tools for infrastructure as code management
  • Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English language proficiency
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and continuous integration/deployment practices
  • Able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
