Cloud Data Engineer Role Overview

This is a highly challenging and rewarding position that will allow the successful candidate to drive innovation in our cloud data engineering team.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Engineer with a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AWS Data Stack (Glue, S3) and AWS Network Design & Authentication Management as well as experience with Terraform / ARM / Bicep for Infrastructure as Code.

  • A Master's degree in computer science, IT engineering, physics, or a similar field is required.
  • The candidate must have at least 3 years of working experience in the mentioned technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the platform roadmap, deriving requirements for missing capabilities in areas of Data & Analytics Stack, GenAI, Data Science, ML, and Application Development, and participating in service evaluation.

  • You will independently plan, design, and enable new features/services based on derived requirements in line with security guidelines, non-functional requirements like cost efficiency and scalability, and documentation guidelines.
  • You will train team members and stakeholders on how to operate and leverage new features and capabilities that you have built, as well as preparing and providing the needed documentation.
  • You will support operations of the platform by providing assistance to stakeholders and ensuring smooth functionality across services. This includes life cycle changes, incident resolution and handling of service requests as well as automation of operations.
  • You will observe and assess platform compliance and define AI-based solutions to ensure cost efficient platform and data operations within compliance guidelines.

Please note that we are looking for someone who can engage with technology and implementation partners to overcome issues if required and shape platform roadmap. Additionally, you will engage with central cloud teams, infrastructure and cyber security teams to implement company and industry best practices and overcome blockers and incidents.
