Engineering Excellence Lead

This role involves driving engineering excellence across a global team to transform both the culture and technology across our KYC applications.

You will be hands-on, leading our software delivery teams by example to build a first-in-class solution that's iteratively delivered into the hands of our users.

Additionally, you will influence the wider group of engineers, architects, and the business to ensure we are building the right products in the right ways.

Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, delivering solutions at high cadence for the build out of both new functionality and the replacement of legacy systems.
  • Work to release change to production every day, owning requirements through discussions with the business through to development, testing, release to, and support of production.
  • Develop a strong engineering culture across our teams – influencing behaviors and removing barriers within the teams.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience building applications using non-breaking principles, particularly in developing RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency in developing microservices using highly iterative methods to deliver change to production regularly.
  • Knowledge of Java, preferably recent versions (17 and greater).
  • Experience in building and managing database schemas using PostgreSQL.
  • A keenness to learn new skills and technologies as the role requires.
  • Passion to influence global teams of engineers in transforming the engineering mindset and culture amongst the group.
  • Experience dissecting business requirements and supporting teams to deliver them iteratively to production at high cadence without large planning cycles.
  • Experience with building and supporting tooling for CI/CD on Kubernetes.
