We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to join our team and support the Group Financial Crime Prevention (GFCP) initiative.

About the Role

">

This is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of PostgreSQL database management and a passion for supporting high-availability systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases on Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • ">
  • Performing database upgrades, patches, and migrations.">
  • Ensuring high availability and disaster recovery configurations are in place and tested.">
  • Monitoring database performance using tools and custom scripts.">
  • Analyzing and resolving database bottlenecks.">
  • Providing recommendations for query optimization and schema design improvements.">
  • Managing backup and recovery strategies.">
  • Implementing and maintaining database security, encryption, and auditing.">
  • Developing scripts for automating routine tasks using Bash, Python, or equivalent.">
  • Enhancing operational efficiency through CI/CD pipeline integration for database changes.">
  • Proactively monitoring the health and performance of database systems, identifying and addressing issues before they impact users.">

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • ">
  • 7+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA managing production databases.">
  • Expertise in large-scale PostgreSQL environments, replication, clustering, and partitioning.">
  • A deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and tools.">
  • Strong SQL optimization and Linux troubleshooting skills.">
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, pgAdmin).">
  • Certifications: PostgreSQL CE or equivalent.">
  • Experience with Performance tuning, Security, Bash, Python, CI/CD Pipelines, DevOps, and SQL.">
