Job Description

The role involves working on Model Risk Management (MRM) at a global level, collaborating with the Chief Model Risk Officer (CMRO) to ensure effective and efficient model risk management across the organization. The successful candidate will be part of a team that provides leadership, standards, coordination, and subject matter expertise for all AI activities within MRM.

Key responsibilities include validating AI products, ensuring the treatment of AI throughout the model lifecycle is consistent and current, and advancing the adoption of AI tools and techniques within internal processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or Engineering.
  • Data Scientist experience in building or validating AI products.
  • Deep understanding of AI models, algorithms, and associated mathematics.
  • Experience with Python, including main libraries used for data science and AI (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Knowledge of risks associated with developing, deploying, and using AI in large commercial organizations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory landscape for AI and ability to assess impact of proposed changes in regulatory rules on the bank.
  • Knowledge of AI research methodologies and techniques, particularly General Purpose AI, Deep Neural Networks, Agentic AI frameworks, and statistical analysis with Supervised and Unsupervised machine learning algorithms.
  • Expertise in data cleaning, feature engineering, and data normalization techniques.
  • Active interest in latest tools and ways of working linked to AI, with ability to apply knowledge in a flexible way adapting to varied circumstances.
  • Ability to promote a strong risk control culture and continually improve risk awareness.
  • Ability to develop networks with key stakeholders.
  • Providing advice and challenge, delivering risk management policies, and managing risks and controls.
