Job Title: Regulatory Policy Expert - Leading Regulatory Interpretations and Compliance

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join HSBC's Global Finance team within the Integrity of Regulatory Reporting Programme (IRR) in Krakow. As a Regulatory Policy Expert, you will be responsible for supporting regulatory reporting teams across various locations on interpreting regulatory policies and advising business lines on their impact.

About You:

  • You should have good knowledge of the regulatory landscape, preferably in a regulatory prudential policy function in a bank with multi-country presence.
  • Experience in general or wholesale banking, including Commercial Banking, Global Banking & Markets, or Wholesale Credit Risk, is essential. A fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA/CIMA) or similar educational qualification is preferred.
  • Rlevant working experience in a bank, rating agency, consultancy, or advisory firm is desirable.
  • You should have strong technical knowledge of prudential regulations, which are administered by key bodies and jurisdictions such as The Basel Committee ('BCBS'), UK/PRA, EU, ECB, SRB, and EBA.
  • Knowledge of one or more areas of prudential regulatory capital, e.g., RWAs, leverage ratio, and capital resources under the US, UK/PRA, and/or BCBS rule frameworks, is also desirable.

As part of HSBC's Global Finance team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver regulatory reporting outcomes. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and opining on existing and proposed regulatory policies, leading the development of regulatory interpretations and policy opinions, and ensuring consistent and accurate communications to regulators.
