We started Marshmallow when we found out how unfair insurance prices are for people who move to the UK. All because the industry hasn't given this huge cohort of people a second's thought, and isn't set up to price them properly.

Engineering at Marshmallow
Our engineers are at the heart of the solutions. They work on product builds from start to finish, solving lots of challenges to help us build fast and scale up Our engineers cover a range of skills across frontend, backend, full stack, iOS and android, and work alongside designers, data scientists, researchers and product managers within our product teams.
Our product teams include: the Renewals and Midterm team, the Cancellations and Payments team, the Mobile team and the Claims team (to name a few) Each team sets its own roadmap, and actively pushes our codebase forward.
About our Claims Tech Team you'll be joining
Claims Tech is a distributed team between Budapest and London, with a purpose to revolutionise the claims journey. Our mission is to streamline the claims process, reducing costs, enhancing the customer experience, and empowering our operational team to reach their full potential. We have big ambitions for 2025, thus we are building new Claims Tech Teams in Budapest, and moving this work from London to a single location.
Currently, we are in the process of developing our cutting-edge internal Claims Management System (CMS). This application is designed to seamlessly guide insurance claims from inception to resolution. It handles every facet of the claims process (internal, external, customer-facing), integrating with partners as well as the financial reporting.

Our process
We break it up into 3 stages:
- Initial call with Tech Talent Acquisition team (45 mins)
- Tech interview with two engineers which is centred around pair programming, systems design and operational excellence technical questions (1 hour 30 minutes)
- A past experience & culture interview with one of our Senior Leaders to check that your ways of working aligns with our processes, mission and values (1 hour)
