Founded in 2001, our client is a leading SAP Industry Solution specialist with decades of experience serving global corporations, mid-sized companies, and public institutions in the Circular Economy, Energy, and Utilities sectors. 

We are seeking a hands-on Lead SAP ABAP Developer to drive the technical delivery of SAP solutions designed specifically for the circular economy sector. You will guide a dedicated SCRUM-like development team, working closely with the Product Owner and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and make architectural decisions for the development team.
  • Set and enforce code quality standards and promote best practices in architecture, tools, and processes.
  • Mentor and coordinate team members, fostering skills development and high performance.
  • Act as a liaison between the development team, Product Owner, and upper management, ensuring clear communication and aligned goals.
  • Contribute to critical and complex components of the codebase in a hands-on capacity.
  • Oversee integration with SAP S/4HANA (Private/Public Cloud), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Solutions based on SAP Clean Core guidelines Utilizing SAP's Application Programming Models, such as RAP and CAP and CDS architectures.
  • Lead teams in Agile/SCRUM-like environments, overseeing task distribution, planning, and deliverables.
  • Utilize Git for version control, enforce professional branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of professional ABAP development experience within ABAP OOP, including hands-on software architecture.
  • Extensive expertise in ABAP on Cloud and RESTful Application Programming (RAP) frameworks.
  • Deep experience with CDS Views / AMDP  and OData V4 services.
  • Good working experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • SAP Business Application Studio ( FIORI  and MDK)
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex, large-scale SAP projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor developers and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM development environments.
  • Fluency in English (C1); German language skills at B2 level.
