Required Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in a programming language of your choice (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, bash, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge in RESTful APIs, cloud-native applications.
  • Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Kibana, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Proven experience with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch) databases.
  • Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, k8s).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, ArgoCD).

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in software development.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the sports, media, or entertainment industries is a plus.
  • Language Skills: English
  • Certifications: Relevant DevOps certifications (CKA, CKS, AWS) are advantageous.

SPORT1 is Germany's largest sports platform, with over 7 million social media followers and 20 million video views per month.

Sport1 is looking for an experienced DevOps engineer with a strong background in AWS to support the team with routine work and support the planned migration of our Kubernetes clusters from Hetzner Cloud to AWS EKS. 

You will work with developers and be an advocate for best practices and security. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a strong background in AWS environment operation and management, with a focus on building and maintaining scalable and secure systems. This role involves hands-on development and support for our CI/CD (GitLab), ensuring our systems are reliable.
