What we look for
Required Experience

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4+ years in senior individual contributor roles
• Proven track record of architecting and building large-scale distributed systems in production environments
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Technical mentorship experience with demonstrable impact on junior engineers' growth

Technical Expertise

• Expert-level proficiency in Java, Python, or similar backend languages with deep understanding of performance optimization
• Advanced knowledge of distributed systems architecture, including microservices, event-driven architecture, and data consistency patterns
• Production experience with Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Strong foundation in database design, optimization, and distributed data management
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
• Understanding of system observability, monitoring, and debugging complex distributed systems

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering decisions across teams
• Excellent communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Growth mindset with enthusiasm for learning new technologies and sharing knowledge with others
• Strong problem-solving abilities with experience debugging complex production issues
• Collaborative approach to engineering with experience working in cross-functional teams
• Fluency in English (speaking and writing) as our company language

Bonus points 

• Staff Engineer experience or demonstrated readiness for technical leadership roles
• Experience with Quarkus, Terraform, Elasticsearch, Debezium, ClickHouse, or similar technologies
• Experience with LLMs/MCP/Agents (Claude/Gemini/AWS Bedrock)
• Open source contributions or technical writing/speaking experience
• Previous experience scaling engineering teams or establishing technical standards
• Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in fast-growing technology companies

As a Senior Platform Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building the foundational systems that support our entire platform. You'll work with modern technologies such as Quarkus, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ClickHouse, AWS, PostgreSQL, Debezium, and LLMs/MCP using Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Kotlin. You'll focus on delivering highly scalable and maintainable platform services, contributing deep technical expertise and driving improvements across codebases and system architecture. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and share your knowledge to raise the technical bar across the organization.
