Primary Responsibilities

Leads a team of technical writers in Brno and Berlin responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation in medical

business environment. This role ensures consistency, quality, and alignment with company goals across all technical content.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support a team of technical writers.
• Content Strategy: Develop and implement documentation standards, style guides, and workflows.
• Project Management: Oversee documentation projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with product releases.
• Quality Assurance: Review and edit content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product management, support, and marketing teams.
• Hiring & Development: Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of writing staff.
• Tooling & Infrastructure: Evaluate and implement documentation tools and platforms.

Project-related tasks

• Creating labels and label plans for devices and accessories.
• Editing short instructions, user manuals, and service manuals in all languages.
• Archiving documents in both paper and electronic form.
• Coordination between suppliers and production.
• Development and implementation of application-oriented presentations of complex technical content.
• Independent and timely coordination with development and product management.
• Gathering the necessary information for documentation creation.
• Coordination of the translation of technical documentation.
• Scheduling of translations.

General Department tasks

• Main contact person for departments: Purchasing / Production / Quality Management / Regulatory Affairs / Key Account / Product Management.
• Processing and responding to inquiries and general tasks in the technical editorial department.
• Line management

Other Department tasks

• Introduction of new tools.
• Initiating and actively participating in synchronization process measures.
• Active participation in the innovation process.
• Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations, and implementation of instructions from quality/environmental management representatives and occupational safety specialists.

Experience and Skills

• Min. 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience in technical writing.
• Experience in leading a team.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g. ST4, Confluence, Polarion, SAP, Bartender, Arena).
• Advanced written and verbal English (min. B2).
• Understanding of engineering development processes and technical concepts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• University degree is a big advantage.
• German and Czech language is a big advantage.
