PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As the digital backbone of SAP, the Corporate Processes & Information Technology organization is the cornerstone of SAP's strategic execution. Our mission is to drive operational efficiency and innovation by leveraging advanced Business AI solutions. Our goal is to facilitate SAP's transformation, enabling scalability and operational leverage through reliable, business-aligned billing processes.

In this functional consultant role, you will focus on translating business requirements into robust Convergent Invoicing (CI) solutions, ensuring correct billing outcomes, smooth operational handovers and high adoption by business users. You will work closely with Product, Process, Operations and Development to deliver end-to-end functional designs that are maintainable, auditable and aligned with our cloud operating model.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

You will have the opportunity to be part of an agile release train that will:

• Establish a trusted partnership with our internal business and technical counterparts and act as "ONE TEAM" from portfolio to delivery and then operation.
• Drive continuous improvement of IT Solution and Service quality with focus on stability, usability, maintainability and ultimately customer satisfaction.
• Design and validate billing processes and business rules (billable items, rating, aggregation, billing cycles, invoice determination, document flow and account assignments) to ensure accurate revenue recognition and customer billing.
• Configure CI functional settings and drive mapping rules, invoice cycle setups, bill-to/ship-to logic and pricing/billing item definitions. Lead configuration activities for standard and complex scenarios; coordinate development work when enhancements are required.
• Create clear, comprehensive functional design documents, process flows, test cases and acceptance criteria; keep documentation up to date for operational handover and audits.
• Coach and transfer knowledge to operations teams and junior consultants.
• Develop skill and competency on latest business models, solutions, and technologies.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

We seek people with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent stakeholder management. Desired qualifications and skills include:

• Academic degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience or demonstrable knowledge of SAP BRIM — Convergent Invoicing (CI). Familiarity with related components (Billing & Revenue Innovation Management, Subscription Billing concepts) is a plus.
• Good knowledge of financial and accounting processes and how billing events map to FI-CA/FI postings.
• Strong functional configuration skills for CI scenarios: billable items, invoice document determination, aggregation and billing cycles.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills in English language.
• Problem-solving mindset, customer orientation, and ability to work in international, virtual teams.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• We are looking for at least 7 years' professional work experience with SAP ERP solutions, with demonstrable functional experience in SAP BRIM / Convergent Invoicing across at least one full implementation or rollout.
• Practical experience in billing process design: billable items, rating, aggregation rules, billing cycles, invoicing processes and account assignment logic. Experience with consumption commercial models is a plus.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales, Operations, DevOps) and facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery is highly regarded; experience participating in sprints, backlog grooming and sprint demos preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to produce clear functional specifications, acceptance criteria and test cases; history of delivering to deadlines while ensuring quality.
• Experience supporting UAT, go-live and hypercare phases, including incident analysis and corrective functional changes.
• Basic ability to read ABAP logs or work with developers on root-cause analysis is desired; strong preference for candidates who can translate technical issues into business impacts.
• Familiarity with SAP integration technologies (PI/PO, CPI, APIs) and FI-CA posting concepts is advantageous.
