Senior Middleware Administrator

NN Digital Hub based in Prague is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical, and experienced Senior Middleware Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will ensure the smooth deployment, configuration, management, and support of middleware technologies that underpin our business-critical applications.

You will be part of a team of approx. 15 engineers responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure – mostly Linux, Windows and VMware related.

What are the tasks you will perform:

• Develop and implement strategies for middleware system optimization to enhance performance and reliability for platforms such as Apache Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, and OpenLiberty.
• Provide L3 support for middleware operations and collaborate with other engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
• Monitor the performance and availability of middleware components, tuning them for optimal performance.
• Perform regular system upgrades and apply patches to maintain system security and performance.
• Support application deployment processes and assist development teams with middleware requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation and contribute to scripting and configuration efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
• Train and mentor junior staff members on the use and management of middleware systems.

What we expect from you:

• University degree (Bachelor's or higher) in a technical field.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

• Analytical mindset, leadership abilities and a passon for continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Apache Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, and OpenLiberty.
• Strong experience in Linux-based environments.
• Basic understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes)

• Understanding of automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.

• Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. Amazon AWS
