Our client, a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) which is currently in a process of upgrading it's license to Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP), is looking for a Money Laundering And Reporting Officer (MLRO) to support the licensing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the business complies with the obligations set out under EU and Czech AML legislation.
  • Act as the central point for the receipt and assessment of internal suspicious activity reports (SARs).
  • Report suspicions of money laundering or terrorist financing to the Czech FIU (FAÚ) in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant AML/CFT laws, regulations, and best practices in the Czech Republic.
  • Implement and maintain the firm's AML/CFT policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of AML systems and controls.
  • Provide AML/CFT training to relevant staff and ensure appropriate awareness across the firm.
  • Cooperate with audits and inspections by Czech regulators or the FIU.
  • Maintain appropriate records, including SARs, customer due diligence (CDD) documents, and AML training logs, in line with Czech legal retention requirements (typically 10 years).

Qualifications and Competence:

  • Strong understanding of Czech AML/CFT legislation and regulatory expectations.
  • Prior experience in a compliance or financial crime role is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Fluency in Czech and proficiency in English.
  • Must be fit and proper to hold the position, as assessed by the company and subject to regulatory review if required.
