Our Product Development group, part of AT&T's Technology Services (ATS) organization, is responsible for building software-based products, services, and platforms that our customer love and need. Harnessing technology and rebuilding software expertise the team is inspiring simplicity with projects that deliver revenue and cost savings opportunities.
Job Overview:
We're hiring a leader of full stack development with a background in cross-platform software engineering and experience of growing teams and delivering projects. This opportunity will support the transformation of our industry standard order and delivery management systems. You will scale teams that work (end-to-end) on new and existing features, enhancements, and defect resolution on one or more of AT&T's software systems and platforms.
The position requires close collaboration with U.S based Product Management, Business Systems, and Operations teams throughout system development life cycles.
To be successful in this technical leadership role you have an active background in software engineering, experience in managing software development teams and are expected to have good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
You will need a deep understanding of software methodologies and the ability to balance technical expertise with business acumen. Ideally you may have had previous experience in a rapid-growth start-up enterprise. Alternatively, you have likely worked within an international environment and possess the entrepreneurial mindset to build and successfully mentor teams of software engineers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership to build, motivate, guide, scale, and mentor team members including performance management coaching.
- Oversee the technical aspects of software development projects, from initial planning and requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Act as liaison between external vendors and internal product, business, engineering, and design teams.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, addressing any issues or bottlenecks that may impact project timelines or software quality.
- Support detailed documentation of systems and features.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development, incorporating relevant advancements into the team's processes and methodologies.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization's software development processes, tools, and standards.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Proven experience in software development and leading technical teams, with a strong record of delivering successful projects.
- Experience with team planning, recruitment, and fostering a positive, growth-oriented team culture.
- Comfortable working across different locations and collaborating internationally.
- Understanding of modern software development approaches, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Experience with resource planning, recruitment, and team development.
- Solid technical team leadership and project delivery including via vendors.
- Excellent understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or DevOps.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and developers
Education qualifications:
Bachelor level degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field of study.
Compensation:
Salary for Slovakia starting from 4 400EUR gross monthly.
Salary for Czech Republic starting from CZK gross monthly.
The actual offered salary may be considerably higher based on your skills, knowledge and experience.

Location:
This is a hybrid-flex worker position where our preference is for you to be present with your team in the office at least 1-3 times per week. Travel between our locations in Bratislava/Brno/Kosice is expected from time-to-time.
