Director of Design

About the role At Productboard, we believe the world's best products are created by teams who deeply understand their customers' needs — and design experiences that feel effortless, intelligent, and human. We're seeking a Director of Design to lead our design organization as we enter a new era of AI-first product management. You'll guide a talented team of product designers, UX writer, and design system expert through an exciting transformation of how modern product teams work in partnership with AI. Reporting to the Martin Felcman, Sr. Director of Product, you'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Experience to define and deliver the next generation of Productboard's experience. You'll set the vision for design quality, clarity, and consistency across our platform — and help make our AI-first agentic experience the default for all customers.
Your responsibilitiesLead and inspire a team of about 10 product designers, UX writer, and design system expert across Europe and the US.Define and drive Productboard's design vision for an AI-first enterprise platform – how agentic systems and human workflows blend.Champion world-class craft in interaction design, visual execution, and UX writing.Partner with Product and Engineering to turn strategy into experience.Evolve our design system into a flexible, AI-aware framework that supports scalability and innovation.Mentor and grow designers; scale org processes and rituals that foster creativity and ownership.
About you10+ years of experience in product design, including 3+ years in design leadership within B2B SaaS or enterprise platforms.Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams.Deep expertise designing for complex, data-rich, modular platforms.Strong portfolio demonstrating design craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact.Strategic communicator who can align executives and partners around design vision.Passionate about the intersection of AI, design, and human creativity.Known for fostering collaboration and raising the design bar.
