Job Overview

As a Senior Java Process Orchestration Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions to transform industry-standard order, delivery, and assurance management systems.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, Business Systems, and Operations teams to develop and enhance AT&T's software platforms, working on new features, enhancements, and defect resolution throughout the development lifecycle.

You will independently deliver robust, scalable systems, contribute to technical discussions, and mentor less experienced team members in a collaborative, agile environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications with deep expertise in Java, BPM/BPMN and process orchestration.

• Take ownership of key technical deliverables across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Apply and advocate best practices in software engineering, code quality, testing, and DevOps.

• Leverage AI-driven tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and stay current with emerging technologies.

• Use modern testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress), code review, static analysis (Lint, Prettier, Veracode, SonarQube), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Terraform).

• Design and implement APIs (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger) and support event-driven architectures (Kafka, messaging services).

• Contribute to cloud-native development using Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Participate in agile processes (Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and team ceremonies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Mentor and support junior developers.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Day-to-Day

• Hands-on coding, troubleshooting, and implementation across the stack.

• Participating in code reviews and technical discussions.

• Collaborating in agile ceremonies, team meetings, and cross-functional projects.

• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers.

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in the Java ecosystem

• Hands-on Experience with Process Orchestration in Camunda

• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (CosmosDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks).

• Experience with event-driven architecture, Kafka, and messaging services.

• Proficiency in API design: REST, Swagger, OpenAPI.

• Experience in automated testing: JUnit, Mockito, Playwright, Cypress.

• Familiarity with code quality and security tools: Lint, Prettier, Veracode, SonarQube.

• Practical knowledge of CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, Terraform) and cloud-native platforms (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies (Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).

Additional Desirable Experience

• Familiarity with enterprise platforms: ServiceNow, Salesforce, TM Forum

• Involvement in migration or modernization of legacy systems.

• Experience working in large, distributed enterprise environments.

Education

Bachelor level degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field of study.

Salary

Slovakia: Enjoy a competitive base salary starting from 3,700 EUR per month (gross), with the potential for a higher offer based on your skills, experience, and expertise.

Czech Republic: Enjoy a competitive base salary starting from CZK per month (gross), with the potential for a higher offer based on your skills, experience, and expertise.

Location and Work Environment

These roles are based in Bratislava, Slovakia; Kosice, Slovakia; and Brno, Czechia. They are hybrid-flex positions requiring presence in the office 1-3 times per week, with occasional travel between these locations.
