Software Engineer

The RHEL Security SELinux team in Brno is looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer to participate in development and quality assurance of the SELinux technologies. This is an ideal position for an engineer who wants to work in an

open-source community project

focusing on operating system security. In this role, your contributions will have high visibility within the company and externally within the community.

What you will do

• Maintain the SELinux policy and implement SELinux aware applications.
• Work with upstream communities to be able to respond to bugs and development needs; cooperate with upstream developers.
• Respond to Requests for Enhancements from our customers by designing, developing and testing new features.
• Prepare Test Plans and Test Strategies.
• Write automated tests.

What you will bring

• Scripting language experience: Bash and Python preferred
• C programming experience: professional or academic experience OK
• Experience with Linux system administration; knowledge of Linux system architecture is considered a huge plus
• Software development and test writing experience
• Advanced knowledge of SELinux technology is considered as a plus
• Intermediate written and spoken English
• Professional communication; presentations skills
