The Red Hat AI Platform Core Components team is looking for an Intern interested in discovering how we enable AI workloads in Red Hat Enterprise Linux to join us in Brno. You will be exposed to the development of Open Source Python tooling for building Python wheels, RPM packaging, and orchestration of GitLab pipelines, leveraging containerised environments. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to work with world-class engineers and get exposure to how high-performing global teams work in an agile environment. You will also gain experience leveraging AI tooling in your daily tasks.

Red Hat's Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is February 1st.

What you will do:

• Contribute to the development of Fromager, a tool that enables re-building a dependency tree of Python wheels from source.

• Familiarize with RPM packaging

• Troubleshoot problems in both our build and CI/CD infrastructure and our resulting products

• Learn how to set up GiLab pipelines 

• Use AI tools such as Claude or Cursor to optimize your workflow

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor's 3rd/4th year or Master's) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.

• Working knowledge of written and spoken English

• 1+ years of experience programming in Python; Basic experience programming in Python)

• Familiarity with Fedora or other Linux based solutions

• Interest in using AI tools to improve productivity

• Interest in contributing to Open Source projects

• Desire to learn more about how AI workloads are enabled at an OS level

• Ability to work in team
