Join Air Products Join the EHS Team for Central EuropeWe are looking for an EH&S Manager to provide support and facilitate implementation of the company's EHS Management System and national legislation across the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary Gases business.
Success in this position is dependent on strong interpersonal and influencing skills, sound judgement, operational and technical credibility, initiative, hands on mentality, implementing change, together with a good understanding of the products, processes, markets and businesses served.
The EH&S Manager will be part of the EMEA EHS&Q team and will report to the EH&S Central Europe. He will be supporting approx. 5 production plants and about 1000 customer installations.
Start date: ASAP
Location: preferably near Litvínov or Děčín or Prague (other locations within the Czech Republic could be also considered)

As the EHS Manager, you will
- Provide timely, accurate and relevant EHS specialist advice and site support - classroom trainings, site-work risk assessments, accident, and incident investigation etc.
- Provide on-site support during major projects, shutdown activities or major modifications.
- Provide EHS support to develop successful partnerships with long term contract companies and their staff.
- Facilitate the implementation of new or revised global or local company EHS Standards
- Implement and maintain all standards and requirements.
- Cooperate with Root Cause Analysis team to ensure thorough and consistent approach, especially regarding behavioural safety.
- Apply global and local Company standards and legislation.
- Participating in the EH&S self-assessment and Audit process and, together with Line Management.
- Delivers (online/classroom) trainings in accordance with EH&S objectives. Provision of EHS support to develop successful partnerships with long term contract companies and their staff.
- Implements new and revised global Air Products standards and local safety regulations. You will be responsible for processing trainings materials and is a participant in corporate audits.
- Represent Air Products and participate in working groups of external industry associations (ČATP/EIGA).
- Participating in the EH&S self-assessment and Audit process
As the EHS Manager, you already are or have
- Solid relevant experience in Environmental & Health Safety management (BOZP) is required, working in either plant operations or maintenance roles and/or working independently in an EHS support or functional role.
- Engineering background and Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent qualification with demonstrated relevant technical experience.
- Professional competence in Czech republic (OZO) or meet the requirements for obtaining it.
- Professional competence in Fire protection or others would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of production, storage and use of technical gases would be beneficial.
- Knowledge 1 or 2 additional Health & Safety specialist areas such as dedicated facilities (Pressure Systems, Gas systems, Cranes, Electrical systems), Mechanical Integrity, Building permit systems, Waste would be beneficial.
- Understanding of relevant legislation such as environmental, labour and dangerous goods management (CLP, ADR).
- Knowledge of EHS management systems and of the processes, technologies and equipment is essential.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills are a major requirement.
- Good command / effective operational proficiency in both Czech and English languages.
- Active driver licence B, readiness to travel about 20% of working time.
- PC skills (Microsoft Office in daily use)
