Academic Position at the Department of Planting Design and Maintenance, Faculty of Horticulture

Research Area: restoration of garden and landscape architecture monuments, selection and cultivation issues of ornamental and useful plants in the context of climate change, their arrangement and use in the landscape and public space utilizing innovative technologies

In its educational activities, the department focuses on the issues of establishment, maintenance, management, evaluation, and protection of green spaces in settlements and landscapes. At the same time, the institute is the guarantor of a significant part of the subjects assessed in state final examinations for SP RSZ, KA, and ZKR. Applied research in the area of restoring garden and landscape architecture monuments and introducing new industry technologies is also essential.

What will your responsibilities be?

• comprehensive management of the institute in all its activities (educational, research, creative, economic, consulting, and other related activities) in line with the faculty's and university's strategy
• developing the institute's development concept, proposing specific measures for its implementation, and being responsible for its realization
• responsibility for the professional, educational, and scientific level of the workplace, including ensuring the quality of teaching and results of creative activity
• proper management of financial resources and the institute's property, responsible for the purposeful, economical, and effective use of entrusted resources
• planning, distributing, controlling, and evaluating the educational activities of staff in guaranteed study subjects and programs
• personnel management of the institute – regular evaluation of work performance, motivation for educational,
• scientific, and publication activities, proposal of personal allowances and rewards

What do we expect from you?

• university education focused on green management or landscape architecture, achieving the scientific-pedagogical title of at least associate professor in the field of landscape architecture or urbanism
• at least 5 years of professional practice in the field, including at least some time in an academic or research institution
• ability to conduct lectures and seminars in both Czech and English
• experience in management and organizational activities, including leading work teams or projects
• experience in publishing in scientific and professional journals and in artistic creative activities, including outputs evaluated within RUV

What research experience do we require?

• experience with solving research and architectural projects (including international ones)

What will we appreciate additionally?

• authorization certificate from the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA) in the field of landscape architecture
• presentation and rhetorical skills
