Direct Buyer

Join our Site Sourcing team and take end-to-end ownership of designated direct-material commodities (Glass and Lightening & Decoration). Reporting (directly and functionally) to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, you'll drive sourcing excellence across process improvement, reporting, and supplier & stakeholder relationship management.

• Lead supplier communications & negotiations: pricing, lead times, delivery terms (incl. Incoterms).
• Ensure full compliance with sourcing guidelines, principles, policies, ethics, and SOPs; promptly escalate deviations to your line manager.
• Own new-supplier onboarding: commercial assessments, market intelligence/analysis, due diligence; coordinate initial quality and financial assessments with the relevant teams.
• Report performance: provide bi-weekly spend and savings progress with clear insights and actions.
• Advise commercially and manage a portfolio of sourcing activities with a long-term, total-cost view of spend.
• Partner with site functions & stakeholders to align on demand, priorities, and timing.
• Collaborate with R&D on NPIs and industrialization of new projects; order prototypes and samples as needed.
• Support Operations & Plant Management on direct-material sourcing requests.
• Develop the supplier base: conduct ongoing market analysis; drive consolidation, qualification, and performance improvement.
• Shape commodity strategies with your line manager and category managers.
• Lead contract negotiations and evaluate existing agreement performance.
• Protect supply continuity: identify, monitor, and mitigate supply risks.
• Embed quality & commercial KPIs into supplier agreements; track and drive supplier performance-improvement programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years' experience as a Buyer/Strategic Sourcing professional in a manufacturing environment with a strong record of delivered projects and measurable results.
• Pragmatic, dynamic, and autonomous working style.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
• Fluent in Czech and English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Excel (able to build clear reports and KPI dashboards).
