Networks & Services International (NWI) develops, plans, builds and operates the international network infrastructure of the Deutsche Telekom Group and produces Internet carriers and wholesale services for Telekom Global Carriers

We are seeking a highly skilled Messaging and Firewall Expert specializing in SMS and A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and messaging security.

• Manage and maintain SMS firewall configurations to protect against fraud and security threats
• Monitor real-time inbound and outbound traffic on both SS7 and SMPP connections
• Analyze SMS delivery test results and traffic patterns
• Configure new blocking and monitoring rules as needed
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports for business intelligence
• Provide consultancy on integrating and deploying SMS firewall solutions
• Collaborate with clients and vendors to optimize messaging security
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices for A2P messaging
• Operation and maintenance of A2P messaging gateway and firewall

You have a degree in engineering or comparable vocational training with a corresponding field of study or subject-specific additional training or several years of professional experience in the field Messaging, Voice and Firewall technology.

Furthermore, you are characterized by detailed company-specific knowledge or exceptional expert knowledge and skills:

• 5+ years of experience in messaging, preferably with SMS firewall or SS7 firewall
• Experience in platform operation and SS7/SMPP protocol troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of operator network infrastructure, SS7 protocols, and SMPP
• Familiarity with SS7 stack and REGEX
• Experience with database management and data analysis tools
• Proficiency in Unix and basic knowledge of VPN & SSL
• Understanding of A2P SMS monetization strategies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication abilities to interact with clients and team members
• Knowledge of SMS analysis techniques and traffic segmentation
• Experience with AI and machine learning algorithms for fraud detection
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, PowerBI)
• Understanding of SIM box fraud and mitigation techniques
• Required language skills: English
• Very strong English reading/writing/conversation skills

• Experience with CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service)
• Knowledge of other Messaging channels (e.g., RCS, WhatsApp)

• German language skills, English is must, but German and any other foreign language a strong plus
