Join our team in the vibrant Karlín area of Prague. This role sits within our EMEA Catastrophe Risk Analytics team and supports clients across Central and Eastern Europe.
Our new Prague office is a regional hub, working closely with colleagues in the UK and across EMEA. You’ll help build the local operation while contributing to established global workflows. The focus is practical analytics, collaboration, and clear insight for clients navigating catastrophe risk.
How you'll make an impact
In this role, you’ll:
- Quantify catastrophe risk for client portfolios using vendor and Gallagher Re catastrophe models.
- Review and prepare client exposure data so it’s complete, accurate, and suitable for modelling.
- Convert client data into the formats required by catastrophe modelling tools.
- Support renewal modelling for local and global insurance and reinsurance accounts.
- Contribute to the development and rollout of analytical services with research teams and external partners.
- Explain model results, assumptions, and uncertainty to clients, brokers, reinsurers, and actuaries.
- Assess model updates and understand how changes affect portfolio outputs.
- Provide real‑time analysis of natural catastrophe events and support client post‑event reporting.
- Deliver bespoke analytical projects tailored to regional client needs.
About you
Here’s what you’ll bring:
- A background in mathematics, physics, engineering, geosciences, climate or natural sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with catastrophe models and applying them to insurance or reinsurance portfolios.
- Hands‑on use of at least one vendor modelling platform or related risk or GIS tools.
- An understanding of catastrophe perils, model structure, and key assumptions.
- The ability to review, structure, and interpret large datasets for modelling and analysis.
- Experience using analytical or coding tools such as Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, or similar.
- An interest in developing bespoke analytical solutions for regional client needs.
- Confidence explaining technical outcomes to different audiences in clear, practical terms.
- A collaborative way of working across teams, locations, and disciplines.
