Credit Risk Manager

Job description:

On behalf of a well-known international company specialised in visual digital entertainment, we are currently looking for a Credit Risk Manager to join their growing team in Prague.

The company has about 150 employees in their business centre in Prague, out of which 50% of them are expats mainly from Europe. The company's customers are large businesses willing to purchase goods worth millions of euros. The role of the Credit Risk manager will be to supervise the whole credit control management, provide deep analysis of credit risks, credit scoring and create risk models while leading a team of 4 people.

As a Credit Risk Manager based in Prague, your primary responsibility is to oversee credit risk across multiple sales organizations within the company. Collaborating closely with sales teams, you’ll analyze the customer portfolio to minimize risk, optimize sales, and reduce outstanding receivables. 

Responsibility:

Team Leadership (60%):

• Manage a team of four individuals across Prague and Amsterdam.
• Conduct regular meetings, coach team members, train newcomers, and evaluate performance
• Drive process improvements within the team.
• Implement effective risk management practices.
• Apply credit policies to minimize risk.
• Continuously evaluate credit risk categories and credit limits.
• Collaborate with Sales, CFO, Legal, Customers, Credit Agencies, and Credit Insurers/Brokers.
• Provide recommendations for procedural and policy enhancements.

Operational Tasks (40%):

• Analyze customer risk and review new and existing customers based on different scoring rules.
• Maintain customer scorecard for customer credit risk
• Secure credit risk by acquiring and maintaining bank guarantees, letters of credit, stand-by letters of credit, and insurance.
• Calculate internal credit limits for specific customers and manage credit risk.
• Perform accounting activities for doubtful accounts receivable, review Value adjustments and Write-offs, and prepare journal vouchers for approvals
• Evaluate and release blocked orders, obtaining necessary approvals
• Handle legal dunning and insolvencies, collaborating with stakeholders such as the Legal department and insurance providers.
• Ensure availability of necessary materials for External/Internal audits and address audit questions
• Maintain alignment of credit limits Master data between Insurance, SAP, and Salesforce.

Would be great if you have:

• University degree, preferably in economics or finance
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the credit risk field
• Previous experience in leading a team (min. 2 years)
• Proficient in comprehending and interpreting financial statements, and drawing business-related conclusions.
• Knowledge and understanding of F&A processes, including methodologies for handling standard and non-standard financial situations
• Familiarity with SAP, Power BI and MS Excel if highly desirable
• Possess analytical thinking, a structured approach, and the ability to think outside the box
• Strong communication skills, proactive behavior, positive mental and "get things done" attitude
• Fluent in English
