About the Team
Our InsightIDR product plays a crucial role in identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks for our clients. We leverage AI, ML, threat intelligence, and BI across various event sources like desktops, servers, network switches, firewalls, and more to distill daily events into high priority threats that require attention. Our systems process vast amounts of data that must be available and efficient around the clock.

Some of the technologies we work with include:

Java, Python, Cassandra, MySQL/RDS, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka, AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, etc.), Zookeeper, Terraform, Jenkins, Artifactory, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Kubernetes

About the Role

As an SRE, you'll collaborate closely with our engineering team and cross-functional teams at Rapid7 to tackle complex challenges at a large scale.

In this position, you will:

  • Support services pre-launch by engaging in activities like design, deployment, migration strategy, monitoring, and playbook reviews
  • Sustain services post-launch by assessing and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Expand systems through automation, promoting service and infrastructure enhancements
  • Address production issues and collaborate with relevant Engineering or Infrastructure teams for resolution
  • Engage in on-call support and incident response activities including post-mortems
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product teams to enhance the InsightIDR services lifecycle
  • Mentor and guide team members
  • Continuously enhance and refine your skill set

The skills we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a STEM-related field, or 3+ years of industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, performance and application issues, RESTFul architectures, database operation, and optimization
  • 3+ years of programming experience in languages such as Java, Python, C, C++, Go, Rust, Ruby
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud Providers like AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice-to-have:

  • 3+ years of SRE or DevOps experience
  • Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, RDS, VPC, networking, S3, MSK, etc.
