Software Product Owner role at Thermo Fisher Scientific, responsible for building product vision and roadmap to increase customer value in a multi-disciplinary technical environment.

The Software Product Owner has a self-propelling role, working as a software development team member within the R&D organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Translate customer value propositions into meaningful, industry-leading software (sub)products that delight our customers.
  • Drive the innovative development of new products through design, verification, and validation stages.
  • Collect feedback about specific needs by communicating with collaborators regularly and use this information to improve products.
  • Make the product backlog visible and clear.
  • Handle incoming bug reports and change requests for the product.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by optimizing product performance, improving reliability and stability, and continuously balancing the introduction of new features with the implementation of functional and non-functional improvements.
  • Support product development budgeting, process improvement, and quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated problems.
  • 1-3 years in a software product owner role.
  • A university degree is required.
  • Understanding of software development processes and tools.
  • Sense for agile development. Experience with Scrum is an advantage.
  • Experience with a multisite and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Physics, mechanical, or electronics engineering background is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel abroad.
