A Senior Specialist with 5+ years of experience in global trade, supply chain, and logistics is sought to support the mission of the Pharma Services Group. The role involves ensuring compliant, timely, and efficient movement of imports and exports, with a focus on customer service and collaboration with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on pertinent regulations and respond accordingly to update all affected functions, personnel, and leadership teams.
  • Trade Compliance Transactions: Monitor site export and import shipments to improve the customer experience and resolve any transaction concerns as needed.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of local compliance policies specific to trade compliance changes due to Brexit legislation and EU policy changes.
  • Process Support: Support GTC leadership with process, strategic, and transactional issues as needed.
  • Filing Systems: Build and maintain filing systems to handle transactional records while meeting government and corporate record retention requirements.
  • Collaboration: Interact effectively with multiple functional areas, including senior management, supply chain, logistics, sales, project management, finance, HR, IT, and legal.
  • Screening Activities: Perform screening activities for proposed export transactions, suppliers, site visits, and document the screening as evidence of due diligence.
  • Database Management: Assist in the management of all applicable databases containing dual use and tariff classifications.
  • Reporting: Apply for and coordinate annual reporting for all required licenses, permits, and approvals for export transactions.
  • Trade Compliance: Provide required import/export information to customs brokers and forwarders to ensure accurate clearance of imports, exports, and other aspects of trade compliance.
  • Client and Supplier Management: Work with suppliers, vendors, and clients to ensure they understand and abide by legal requirements for accurate importing and exporting clearance.
  • Clearance Document Audits: Conduct periodic import/export clearance document audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Consistent track record in global trade, supply chain, international operations, and/or logistics over a 5+ year period.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Skills for research and investigative work.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret various government regulations.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15%.
