QA Engineer

This role is responsible for developing and executing automated test plans to ensure software quality at every stage of the development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with QAs, developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet the highest standards of quality What you'll be doing: Automation and tooling: Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and tooling (e.g. Playwright with Typescript) to enable fast feedback and high-test coverage Test strategy and planning: Contribute to test strategy and planning by defining scope to be automated, identifying appropriate test approaches, and ensuring alignment with business requirements. Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and operations teams to integrate testing into the software development lifecycle from the earliest stages. Quality metrics and reporting: Define, track, and report on key quality metrics, such as defect rates, test coverage, and performance benchmarks. Risk assessment and mitigation: Identify risks in software releases and develop strategies to mitigate them proactively. Test environment management: Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure test environments are reliable, available, and accurately mirror production environments. Problem-solving and debugging: Lead efforts to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex quality issues, working closely with developers to ensure smooth resolution. Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Demonstrable experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automated testing across UI and API layers. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and isolate issues in complex systems. In-depth understanding of core testing methodologies, including Boundary Value Analysis (BVA), Equivalence Partitioning (EP), and risk-based testing strategies. Hands-on expertise with modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks for UI and API testing. Skilled in designing and maintaining robust automated test plans, writing clear and maintainable test cases, and producing comprehensive test documentation. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. Experience testing complex back-end systems and APIs, with strong skills in querying relational databases using SQL. Solid background in Agile development methodologies, actively contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and continuous integration practices What's in it for you? Flexible working.
