Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Lead Game Designer to spearhead the design vision for our upcoming project. As the lead designer, you will be responsible for shaping the player experience, defining engaging gameplay systems, envisioning a rich narrative, and guiding the team towards project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Vision: Own and champion the design vision for the project, ensuring alignment with the game's narrative, mechanics, and business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the design team, fostering collaboration and setting high-quality standards for game design across all areas.
  • Innovative Gameplay Systems: Drive the creation of innovative, engaging, and immersive gameplay systems, levels, and mechanics with a focus on horror elements.
  • Documentation and Prototyping: Create, maintain, and oversee comprehensive design documentation. Prototype, test, and refine design concepts using feedback from playtests and live data.
  • Collaboration and Feedback: Provide detailed feedback during reviews on all aspects of game design, including player characters, enemies, and levels. Partner with other disciplines (programming, art, sound, etc.) to deliver polished and cohesive features.
  • Risk Management and Innovation: Identify design risks and work collaboratively to develop mitigation strategies. Stay informed about industry trends and integrate innovative ideas to enhance the player experience.
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor and guide the design team, fostering professional growth and alignment with project goals.
Requirements

Proficiency in Unreal Engine and a strong background in game design are essential. A passion for horror games and a deep understanding of what makes them engaging and terrifying are also crucial.
