Cloud Services Specialist

As a Cloud Services Specialist, you will be responsible for managing critical technical services that underpin thousands of applications. Your expertise will help deliver against an ambitious technical roadmap.

  • Build and manage the GCP foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Engineer solutions on GCP using Infrastructure As Code methods (e.g., Terraform)
  • Integrate, configure, deploy, and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g., IAM, networking, logging, operating systems, containers)
  • Support non-functional testing
  • Update support and operational documentation as required
  • Ensure compliance with centrally defined security and operational risk standards
Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience with infrastructure build and configurations of various services including Compute, Storage, SDN (VPC and XPN)
  • Demonstrable Linux administration and scripting expertise preferably Red Hat
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and continuous testing tools
  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Programming experience in one or more languages: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala
  • Server administration (either Linux or Windows)
  • Automation scripting using Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and learn new tools

This role involves building and managing the HSBC GCP foundation platform to enable application deployments. Experience with CI/CD tools, agile methodologies, and automation is essential. A strong background in infrastructure design, Linux administration, and programming is also required. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing, storage, and network architecture.
