Model Governance Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Model Governance Specialist to join our team. As a Model Governance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of models throughout their lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in model governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. They will be responsible for collaborating with model owners to ensure full compliance with internal model governance frameworks and external regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and regularly updating the model inventory to ensure completeness, accuracy, and traceability of all models used across the organization.
  • Monitoring model statuses, including validation timelines, approval records, and performance monitoring indicators.
  • Supporting the coordination and execution of model reviews and validations in partnership with model validators and risk teams.
  • Preparing and delivering periodic model risk governance reports for senior management and relevant governance committees.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to automate model governance processes to reduce manual work and enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Tracking and managing model risk issues, remediation plans, policy exceptions, and dispensations.
  • Providing guidance and training to model stakeholders on governance best practices, compliance expectations, and risk policies.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel, Power BI).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Additionally, they will have 3+ years of experience in model governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, data analytics, or a related area. Understanding of model risk regulatory guidelines such as SR 11-7 (Federal Reserve) or SS1/23 (Bank of England) is required.
