Job Title: Data Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned expert to spearhead the redesign, implementation, and support of our existing SQL infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Solution Design: Develop scalable SQL database solutions optimized for reporting and analytics.
  • Data Modeling: Create data models and schemas that adhere to best practices in normalization, indexing, and partitioning.
  • Business Requirements Analysis: Translate business reporting needs into technical specifications.
  • Database Environment Management: Manage and maintain SQL Server environments, including backups, recovery, and security.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, and server configurations.
  • Data Integrity and Compliance: Ensure data integrity, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Data Pipelines and Reporting Layers: Build data pipelines and reporting layers to support BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS).
  • Reporting Enhancements: Develop stored procedures, views, and materialized tables to enhance reporting performance.
  • Collaboration with BI Teams: Collaborate with BI teams to ensure seamless data access and availability.
  • Documentation and Governance: Maintain documentation of database architecture, data flows, and reporting logic. Define and enforce data governance policies.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and training on best practices for data access and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud-Based Database Experience: Experience with Azure SQL or other cloud-based database platforms.
  • Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modelling: Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
  • API-Based Data Ingestion: Exposure to API-based data ingestion and scripting.
  • Certifications: Microsoft SQL Server or Data Architecture certifications.
