Job Summary

This role involves working on multiple projects, focusing on improving developer experience and productivity within large Java/C++ monorepos.

  • Experience in developing solutions around building tools, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and other aspects of the software development lifecycle.
  • Practical knowledge of Bazel or at least one other build tool is required.
  • Candidates should be familiar with at least one ecosystem (JVM, .Net, Rust, GoLang, NPM etc.).
  • Effective communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Pro-active approach to problem-solving, with no hesitation in seeking help when needed.
  • Self-motivation and self-management of tasks are crucial.

The successful candidate will work on:

Project: py-sphere

Our team is focused on enhancing developer experience and productivity within a large Java/C++ monorepo by building and maintaining essential tooling and libraries in Python.

Tech Stack: Java, Python, C++, Groovy.

Key Challenges: Designing intuitive tools and libraries that enhance developer productivity, optimizing and integrating tools like Git, VS Code, Bitbucket, and Jenkins for large-scale codebases.

Team: Distributed between Europe and Asia.

Project: Bazel Flow

Our team collaborates with a leading vendor of caching and remote build execution solutions for Bazel and other build tools.

Tech Stack: Bazel, Starlark, Golang, C++, Typescript and more.

Challenges: Research and Development around various tooling within the Bazel ecosystem, solving complex problems from different technology stacks that change frequently.

Team: Currently a team of 2, expanding to 3+ with the support of a project manager.

Project: Bazel Champion

This role involves a mix of consulting and dev-rel work around Bazel.

Tech Stack: Java, Bazel, Starlark, Python.

Key Challenges: Exceptional multitasking skills, willingness to engage in public speaking, write articles, and participate in social media discussions.

Team: 2 developer advocates/experts.
