Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced CLOUD ENGINEER to join our global team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining highly resilient, scalable, and performant Azure infrastructure.

About the Role

This is a key position within our Azure Cloud Services team, reporting directly to the Azure Engineering Lead. As a Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our Azure infrastructure meets the highest standards of security and compliance.

The role involves:

  • Designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and secure Azure infrastructure
  • Building and managing HSBC's Azure foundation platform to enable efficient application deployments
  • Engineering solutions on the Azure foundation platform using Infrastructure-as-Code methods (e.g., Terraform)
  • Ensuring compliance with centrally defined Security and Operational risk standards
Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Expert understanding of Azure services and DevOps principles
  • Proficient understanding and implementation of CI/CD pipelines on multiple technology stacks
  • Strong knowledge of security and compliance, including IAM and cloud auditing/monitoring tools
  • Excellent customer/stakeholder focus and ability to build strong relationships with Application teams and global/local IT teams
