Model Governance Professional

We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Model Governance Manager.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with internal model governance frameworks and external regulatory requirements throughout the model lifecycle.
- Collaborate with model owners to ensure full compliance with internal model governance frameworks and external regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and regularly update the model inventory, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and traceability of all models used across the organization.
- Monitor model statuses, including validation timelines, approval records, and performance monitoring indicators.
- Support the coordination and execution of model reviews and validations in partnership with model validators and risk teams.
- Prepare and deliver periodic model risk governance reports for senior management and relevant governance committees.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate model governance processes, aiming to reduce manual work and enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
- Track and manage model risk issues, remediation plans, policy exceptions, and dispensations.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in model governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, data analytics, or a related area.
- Understanding of model risk regulatory guidelines such as SR 11-7 (Federal Reserve) or SS1/23 (Bank of England).
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel, Power BI).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Experience in process improvement or governance automation projects is a strong asset.
