What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • Excellent understanding of the change lifecycles, including 3+ years of working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies, ability to apply best practices. Excellent understanding of Change Framework and best practice techniques.
  • A track record of delivery on time and on budget and achieving business case stated outcomes.
  • Strong experience of managing senior stakeholders. Track record of building sustainable relationship with diverse stakeholder groups. Change Management experience in UK market is an advantage. 
  • Skills: High quality verbal and written communication skills, ability to present strategic information briefly and clearly to wide and varied audiences. Influencing skills and ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Strong facilitation and public speaking skills.
  • Commercial thinking including strong financial management capabilities. Critical thinking with ability and confidence to challenge status quo; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proposing solutions when escalating.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management and prioritisation. A track record of constantly looking for improvement, with a 'can do' proactive approach.

  • Qualifications and Accreditations: (i) Master's degree (e.g., MBA) in related field or commensurate practical experience; (ii) PMP, Prince 2 (desirable); (iii) MSP, Agile PM, Change & Implementation (optional).

The purpose of this role is to successfully execute against UK CMB strategic change agenda. 

() The role-holder is responsible for successful delivery of change initiatives. Minor supervision can be expected from senior colleagues accountable and responsible for change execution.

The role holder will / is expected to

  • Be responsible for delivering the change on time within budget and according to set quality and standards, adhering to HSBC Change Framework.
  • Be instrumental in helping the Change Lead to come to well-reasoned decisions in matters of strategic, organisational, operational, and technological investment.
  • Actively contribute to creating, shaping, delivering and embedding sustainable change successfully i.e., 'landing' strategy within the business through unified execution capability. Have proven experience of successfully establishing change governance.
  • Be a 'trusted advisor' to UK CMB stakeholders, with whom they are partnered by identifying opportunities, constructively challenging conventional thinking, ensuring the Voice of the Customer is embedded in projects and then working to shape, prioritise and drive the execution of their change needs with a focus on delivering the desired customer, colleague, operational and financial outcomes.
  • Be an energised, ambitious, and high performing change professional who will actively contribute to the scoping and delivery efforts of strategic change with the business.
  • Be conversant with all facets of the change management including active contribution to creating business cases, initiation of programmes, designing an approach, plan readiness and implementation needs, as well as ensuring proper tracking of project outcomes and benefits realisation.
  • Be well informed about emerging technology and innovation, how this can be applied to solve challenges and improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the Bank's proposition and customer and colleague experience.
  • Have proven experience to analyse large and complex data and be capable to create an insight enabling informed decision-making.

Foster open and honest communication which anticipates stakeholder expectations., Provide all required support to the programme lead to manage change execution, starting from programme/project/portfolio mobilisation through to closure. , Responsible for the delivery of highly complex and business critical change effort in accordance with existing industry best practices and methodologies, in the process establishing credibility for the UK CMB Transformation team., Proactively monitor areas of concern and risks within the project / programme and provide recommendations on response types including action plan, to ensure SLAs of delivery are met. Promote adherence to project/programme/portfolio governance model and use defined controls and standards as outlined in Change Framework. Manage, measure, and track changes to the programme/project, assessing and understanding the impact., Actively contribute to establishing strong governance, producing and publishing all artefacts, maintaining document repositories and establishing document management standards, producing and socialising 'Ways of Working', setting approach and underlying processes to execute the change. , Follow the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of high performance, and ensure pace by identifying and removing barriers to programme success. Demonstrate financial acumen to develop a business case, including investments, detailed benefits, and link to overall finances of the business. , Act as a role model to foster a collaborative team environment which supports and encourages professionalism and development.
