Network Security Expert

The Principal SME for Network Segmentation plays a pivotal role in shaping the vision, strategy, and roadmap for network segmentation across the organization. This highly specialized position ensures that network segmentation controls are effectively designed, implemented, and governed by fostering collaboration between engineering, architecture, operations, and governance teams to align technical efforts with policy, compliance, regulatory, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities include providing technical direction and risk-based security expertise, evaluating the adoption of new network segmentation technologies and practices, supporting vendor relationships for owned technologies, and ensuring progress is tracked and communicated through agreed KPIs and metrics.

Key Challenges:
  • Constructively challenging internal project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with network security standards and the wider cybersecurity control framework.
  • Navigating complex systems and stakeholder environments to drive continuous improvement in network security posture.
  • Ensuring effective prioritization of multiple requests for support while maintaining adherence to network security standards.

Requirements:
A strong background in network security, cloud security, and modern network architectures, including Zero Trust Architecture, SD-WAN, SASE, and cloud security frameworks, as well as hands-on experience in network security engineering and a deep understanding of financial IT environments, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container security, and identity-based segmentation.
